For the last three years I have walked the West Highland Way with friends and alone. No matter my situation, AMS Outdoors has been very accommodating. Plus, they offer an invaluable service, which is why I chose to walk the West Highland Way in the first place - luggage transfer by Go Haggis. You only need walk with a day pack each day, then be confident that your heavier travel case is delivered to your next nights accommodation. If there are any issues that occur during your walk, they are just a phone call away. They work closely with you to resolve your problem. In my case, I fell and broke my wrist while walking along the Way, only I didnt realize it was broken. I called Audrey at AMS to explain what happened. She gave me instructions on how to get to the Accidents & Emergency room in Glasgow. Then she checked in on me. She even drove me to my next nights accommodation. I continued the journey, but rode a bus each day instead of walking. Before you leave home, AMS Outdoors emails you a welcome packet that lists all our accommodations, including directions to each one and contact information. The packet also includes a mileage chart, packing list (kit list), places to eat, tourist attractions, ATM cash machines, and expected cell reception along the Way. All this information is very helpful. Additionally, AMS Outdoors provides a map of the West Highland Way, which is handed to you at your first nights accommodation before starting your walk.AMS Outdoors is a wonderful family-owned company.
